Now, I'm not exactly a big fan of large bodies of water and the creatures that inhabit them - frankly, I'm terrified! Which I guess, makes my participation in this whole event ironic. Anyway, my contact with animals (aquatic or not) is limited to the numerous international zoos and aquariums my family has visited. I was going to talk about the time my family went on a getaway trip with our friends and went on a boat tour in the Gulf of Oman - which wasn't much to talk about anyway - but then I realized we could talk about our aquarium experiences, so I will be talking about a particular experience that has stuck with me for several years.
My 1st Grade school trip! So, around the age of 6-7 years old. I lived in the UAE at the time and the Dubai Mall Aquarium & Underwater Zoo was becoming more and more popular as a tourist attraction, so obviously the right thing to do would be to plan a field trip there. I wasn’t too freaked out about all the animals at this point in time (unlike now) so I didn’t have much of a problem for most of the trip. But then there came the iconic aquarium tunnel, which allowed you to experience the humongous aquarium from the inside without actually being inside. I had already watched from the outside and been inside the tunnel with my family, so I was no stranger to it. But when it was my class’ turn to walk through, I took one look at the small sharks lurking around the entrance of the tunnel and I sort of… hesitated. I could feel my mouth getting drier and my stomach slowly filling up with dread. I took a couple steps in - I was feeling okay, not too bad because I was near my teacher and I was standing with maybe 2-3 classmates. Then, as I stood less than half a meter away from the glass, innocently admiring the smaller fish chilling by the aquarium bed, a Sand Tiger Shark glided right in front of my eyes. At first, I stared at one of its beady, white eyes, and chill ran up my spine. Then, out of the blue, I heard a deep, gut-wrenching sardonic laugh (a.k.a the typical “muahahaha”) and I YELPED out of panic and paranoia! I leaped into the arms of my teacher and frantically searching around for the person who did it, ANYONE… but there was none. Not a single person was giggling or showing any other signs that they could've pulled the prank, or was even looking at the shark in the first place. It was so surreal, I highly doubt I had imagined it! And to this day, whenever I see an aquarium of any size, I see flashes of images from that moment. Thanks for reading ;D

Also yes I do realize this is MUCH longer than what was asked for but it didn't feel complete without some background info :3
