Lucia Dinapoli Posted October 1, 2021 Author Report Posted October 1, 2021 The Bloody Baron seemed a little more alert this time of year, Lucia had noticed. He was often lurking in the Slytherin Common Room, and although usually would keep to himself, liked to admire the house snakes and cats especially. Murdoc had taken a rather big liking to him. ‘Perhaps it’s because he doesn’t run through him or something?’ Lucia thought as she eyed the Bloody Baron from her place beside the Common Room fire. He was awkwardly mimicking what would have been a pet to Murdoc’s fuzzy black head had he had a body to do so. Lucia thought it was rather nice seeing the Ghosts. It felt comforting to her to know that there was something waiting after her inevitable end. Although, she rather hated it when she was tucking into her chicken and Nearly Headless Nick’s almost headless head would topple almost off his shoulders…’Yuck! That can’t be fun,’ she shivered. Emelio Black Posted December 1, 2021 Report Posted December 1, 2021 Emelio, though she usually kept to herself, couldn't help noticing Lucia watching The Bloody Baron from across the room. Her Albino Python, Archimedes, slithered up Emelio's arm, resting around her neck, his head laying on her head. I know what you're going to say...But just look at her! She's a Prefect. She's funny and kind, and probably doesn't want to be friends with someone like me. Emelio looked at Lucia again while whispering to Archimedes in Parseltongue. You won't know unless you try and talk to her, now will you? He turned his head to look at Lucia as well. She sighed. I don't know. I just...don't know. What if she thinks I'm a freak? Go talk to her! Fine. Emelio got up. Do you think having a snake on my head will scare her? Just go! Archimedes sounded impatient. As she walked toward Lucia, Emelio felt her stomach do several backflips. "Erm hi." Lucia looked up from her book. "Erm...My name is Emelio. This is Archimedes. Would you mind if I..erm...sat next to you?" Quote
Lucia Dinapoli Posted December 24, 2021 Author Report Posted December 24, 2021 The voice was quiet, but just loud enough to break her ghostly thoughts. It was a first year. Lucia, after her first term as a Prefect was very familiar with most of the first years…helping them find their classes, introducing them to Professors, recommending books for their exams. This one she hadn’t yet spoken to but had seen around the castle with their slithery friend often. “Hello there,” Lucia began, “Emilio is it? Sorry I didn’t notice you until now I was very engrossed in the Baron. He’s awful playful this time of year…although don’t let him know I said that.” Lucia whispered cheekily, “Everything alright?” Quote
Emelio Black Posted December 29, 2021 Report Posted December 29, 2021 "I--erm..." Emelio heard Archimedes whisper in her ear, Just do it already!!! "I was wondering...if I could maybe sit next to you...? I uh, noticed your book....you looked really intrigued. Is it good?" She felt Arc shift on her head as she held her breath. Quote
Lucia Dinapoli Posted December 30, 2021 Author Report Posted December 30, 2021 Lucia smiled knowingly, “Pull up a seat. I have some toffees from Honeydukes if you fancy one?” She offered them out to Emilio, “I’m not sure snakes can have them though,” Lucia turned up to Archimedes, “Ai Slusi’a, ou neet nais [Parseltongue translation: I’m Lucia, nice to meet you]” She turned to her current read, hoping she hadn’t messed up her Parseltongue. It had been a while since her lessons from Professor Will and she was a little rusty. “The book’s called Fairies, Elves and Goblins: The Old Stories and Fairytales. Its a Muggle book from my fathers side, I’m comparing it to the tales from our world in preparation for a class I’m writing. You can take a look if you’d like?” Quote
Emelio Black Posted December 31, 2021 Report Posted December 31, 2021 Emelio gaped at Lucia upon hearing her speak in Parseltongue, then started giggling. Lucia looked at Emelio with a bewildered expression at her sudden outburst of giggles. "You--you told Arc--" She held her sides trying to control her fit of laughter. "You said it was ugly to feel him!" She swallowed and took a breath to calm down, though she couldn't stop smiling. "I'm sorry for laughing, it wasn't what you said, it was mainly the look on Archimedes' face." She saw Lucia look at Arc and giggle; his eyes were wide and his tongue was flicking rapidly out of his twisted mouth. "Did Professor Lestrange give you lessons? I'm the only person of my family who can speak it, though we're all pureblood slytherin descendants. Sorry for laughing at you again, I just couldn't help myself. I have a dictionary in Parseltongue if you want to borrow it." She sat down and took a toffee. Quote
