Louis Walles Posted March 13, 2021 Report Posted March 13, 2021 Welcome to my journal! It's my first time ever creating a journal online! I am a bit boring, so don't expect any extremely fascinating stories! 😂 Below, you can find my journal's cover. I was unsure about the size so I did it 400px. If you want to see the full size photo of this cover, here is the LINK! 10 scales awarded Quote
Louis Walles Posted March 13, 2021 Author Report Posted March 13, 2021 08/03/2021 - 14/03/2021 This is my first journal entry ever! So welcome to my boring life 😁 I assume I want to make this journal more of my 'notepad', which would be more of a realistic account of my day-to-day life rather than the 'unreal' life. Therefore, this entry would be kind of an introduction! I am married to the Hufflepuff student - Harry Walles (he has an activity running called 'The Musical Wizards' - CHECK IT OUT GUYS!!), and we have 3 children together. We also run a class here in HOL called 'Monsters in Cinema', which was a kind gift from February. I currently work 10h on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. I have university on Thursdays and Fridays, and again, I work 8h on Saturdays. Therefore, I am extremely busy during the week but I still am on HOL every day and try to complete almost all activities available. What else is interesting about me? Hm... I have a band (I'm a singer), I have a ferret (you can see her photo on the cover of my journal), and I am bilingual (I can speak Polish and English). I am also a volunteer for several charities and organisations. I mostly participate in motivational speaking or presentations about PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder), different forms of abuse, and the reality the adopted children face. In particular, I want to make young people and everyone more aware of the reality of PTSD, the PTSD attacks, and flashbacks associated with this disease, and explain to people, in the easiest way possible, how PTSD is comparable to a prison inside of our heads. I am also open to explain what things you can and cannot say to a person with PTSD! (If you would like to talk or ask something or anything - PM me and I respond within a couple of hours!) If you would like to talk to someone for free via email or phone, there is a link to a charity called 'Mind' below. It's a great charity full of nice people! Now, let's just talk about my day a bit! Today I went to work and as soon as I have finished all my tasks for the day, I decided to read a bit. I am participating in the Book Bingo here in HOL. I still need to update the whole thing but I never find the will to go and PM my results - I am way too lazy! I am currently reading 'Every Day' by David Levithan. Pretty good book. I am also focused on completing my HOL assignments. I have no clue which ones I have done and which ones I need to finish. I mean I have it written in a physical copy of a notepad I have somewhere in my bag but...as we already established...I am lazy! 😂 I am also fully on track with the marking of assignments for my class. My inbox is literally empty. A new girl just joined the class. I am hoping more people will submit their assignments. Before she joined, only half of my students had any points whatsoever. I guess this is still a pretty good result as in HOL Genetic last semester, there were 18 students, and I was the only one who got any points and passed. I am positive and hopeful! If you are not sleeping yet, this means I am not as boring as I thought! Or...you are as boring as me, which is awesome! ☺️ Stay tuned for the next week's post! Louis Walles Posted March 20, 2021 Author Report Posted March 20, 2021 15/03/2021 - 21/03/2021 This week was not very interesting. I have been working all week, and helped my husband with all of his assignments. He is currently all done with his HOL assignments for this month. I, however, am not fully done with all my classes. I still need to complete two classes. In real life, I have two uni assignments due 9th April, so I need to finish everything ASAP. I am rather positive about the whole thing, I will work hard to finish it all! Other than that...nothing new in my life! 😁 5 scales awarded Quote
Louis Walles Posted March 28, 2021 Author Report Posted March 28, 2021 22/03/2021 - 28/03/2021 This week again was not extremely fascinating. I have completed all my HOL assignments for March and now I am left with all my RL assignments. I've been watching more football lately. Today's England is playing with Albania - excited!! 5 scales awarded Quote
Louis Walles Posted April 3, 2021 Author Report Posted April 3, 2021 29/03/2021 - 05/04/2021 I made a small progress with my uni assignment! So far I have 630 words out of 2000...I just need to push myself a bit and I know I’ll finish it tomorrow or even today! Who knows? This week is the last week of Spring Staycation! I’m a bit sad because I love having this event but everything has to have an end and this week is the time for it! It was a great fun and I am excited to have more events in the future! 5 scales awarded Quote
Louis Walles Posted April 11, 2021 Author Report Posted April 11, 2021 06/04/2021 - 12/04/2021 I have finished all my real life uni assignments. I will have a last exam on 15th April, so I need to study a lot! This week is also the last week of the Spring Staycation. This was a very fun experiment and I really want to do something as such again! I can't wait for the next opportunity to do something similar in the future. 20 people have participated in this event as a whole, which is awesome! UK is going out of lockdown. Positive about the whole thing. Can't wait to get some coffee! 5 scales awarded Quote
Louis Walles Posted April 17, 2021 Author Report Posted April 17, 2021 12/04/2021 - 19/04/2021 Today was the funeral of Prince Philip. I have watched it on TV with Harry. It was such a sad event.I do have some great photos of the event though. I absolutely am excited to collect photos I have taken of my city for the SerpenTimes. London is a beautiful and a fascinating city, with 32 boroughs in total 😮 I am super excited to share my home with HOL! It was a great week but rather busy. I hope next week is going to be more peaceful! 5 scales awarded Quote
Louis Walles Posted April 24, 2021 Author Report Posted April 24, 2021 20/04/2021 - 27/04/2021 This week was tough for me. I got myself UTI and on the way to work on Wednesday, when I was in a taxi to get to work, I almost passed out. I decided to head to the hospital where they gave me proper medicine and antibiotics. I’m feeling much better now. This is amazing because I need to start planning for the Emerald Cup! I also agreed to help my husband with his upcoming event in May! He’s super excited and I definitely want to help him out a bit! 5 scales awarded Quote
Louis Walles Posted May 1, 2021 Author Report Posted May 1, 2021 28/04/2021 - 05/042021 My ideas for the Emerald Cup worked out and I am in charge of a week! From the bad news, I was advised to stop taking medicine for UTI on Monday (26th) and so I did....just for it to came back two days later! I am on new medication...again. This time I honestly hate this antibiotic more than anything! It gives me side effects in form of a “fake” fever. Besides... the pills are huge and I really struggle with swallowing them! I just need to survive taking 3 pills everyday for a week. Hopefully it will go away at that point. 5 scales awarded Quote
Louis Walles Posted May 8, 2021 Author Report Posted May 8, 2021 01/05/2021 - 08/052021 I’m off the antibiotic and I feel great! The worst is behind me! At the beginning of May, Harry and I (+ our kids) went for a short getaway to Southend on Sea. We basically had just one day to do some cool things so we decided to head to the pier, and get some fish and chips. Here are some photos I took: https://postimg.cc/gallery/j53V06g We have already planned to go to Colchester by the end of May (29/05-03/06) so I’m definitely excited to show you some photos from that place! 5 scales awarded Quote
Louis Walles Posted May 15, 2021 Author Report Posted May 15, 2021 09/05 - 16/05/2021 I think this nightmare will never end! UTI finished last week just to start again yesterday!! 😡 This week was very ordinary. I went to the St. James’s Park. I bought some crisps and as soon as I sat down I was surrounded by animals! I also got my ferret a new cat tree, and placed it near the window. Now we have a true paw patrol here 😂 Take a look at the link below: https://postimg.cc/gallery/KGzFKJ9 5 scales awarded Quote
Louis Walles Posted May 22, 2021 Author Report Posted May 22, 2021 17/05/2021 - 24/052021 1 We are going to move soon and Im super excited about this! The new landlord is okay with pets, so we are thinking about adding a dog to our family! 5 scales awarded Quote
Louis Walles Posted May 29, 2021 Author Report Posted May 29, 2021 25/05/2021 - 31/052021 We have arrived in Colchester but there is not much to talk about the whole journey so far. I am going to show you some photos of the Colchester Zoo next week so definitely stay tune. I have tones of assignments and other work stuff to do. Most HOL stuff are due tomorrow so I need to get that on spot ASAP. I also have a few projects going on for my real life education, so I am going to have a few busy weeks coming. I am also going to host week 3 for the Emerald Cup and I truly can't wait. I need to make sure that I remember to actually host it 😂 Reminders set! 5 scales awarded Quote
Louis Walles Posted June 10, 2021 Author Report Posted June 10, 2021 04/06 - 10/06/2021 I am currently in a process of moving so I was doing a lot of screwing today! I had to put together 6 different shelving units and my arms are totally dying! I haven't stretched before dragging over 300kg to the first floor (obviously not 300kg at once because if I tried to do that, I would be dead by now ) so my shoulders are also crying for help! *FOR MY AMERICAN FELLOW LADS: 300KG = 661.39lbs* I am going to host Week 3 of the Emerald Cup, and I am super excited to show all of you what I have been working on for quite some time. I also have to finish my SerpenTimes puzzles and other....stuff (it's a surprise ) by 15th so I don't have much time left but I'll do it! I promise! Here is what I need to do by 15th June, which is HOL related; Mark all assignments/projects/exams from Monsters in Cinema (I'm up to date so far) Complete my class - History of Things: The last assignment The term project Help Harry with his assignments: Survival - last assignment Chinese Festival - extra credit Of course, SerpenTimes things Additionally, Real Life things: By 16th June - Finish assignment 2 for Imprisonment You can see it's a busy week! Not even going to mention all the moving things I need to do! The things I need to by the end of June..are even longer so at this point there's no point even mentioning them! 5 scales awarded Quote
Louis Walles Posted June 12, 2021 Author Report Posted June 12, 2021 11/06 - 18/06/2021 I have finished my Assignment for History of Things and I guess I will do the Spring Term Project for this class as well so I can be fully done with all my assignments! Not much progress from yesterday but I’m still trying to add everything up so I can find enough time to complete all of it! 5 scales awarded Quote
Louis Walles Posted June 20, 2021 Author Report Posted June 20, 2021 19/06 - 26/06/2021 I am all done with my marking. I'm just waiting for all students to submit everything they want (e.g. extra tasks or projects) and I am all done with my classes. This and next week, I want to finish all tasks and finally complete other tasks for the Emerald Cup. 5 scales awarded Quote
Louis Walles Posted June 26, 2021 Author Report Posted June 26, 2021 20/06 - 27/06/2021 I don't have much tasks left to complete for the Emerald Cup (I think I need to do like 3 more). A lot of tasks to complete in the Sett! Sounds like a busy week for me! I have pretty much unpacked everything, with just a few of boxes left! Everyone's mood is changing each second - one minute everyone adores being in here and the next everyone constantly argues with each other about how small the house is. 5 scales awarded Quote
Louis Walles Posted February 11, 2022 Author Report Posted February 11, 2022 07/02/2022-13/02/2022 This week is my last week before the new school term and I am rather terrified especially that they want us to make a presentation about some stupid uni knowledge and we will have to present it to the class - sounds awful! I am doing pretty well with keeping on track with HOL homework and all the events Sounds exciting! 5 scales awarded Quote
Louis Walles Posted March 5, 2023 Author Report Posted March 5, 2023 05/03/2023 -12/03/2023 It has been a while since my last post! I have been rather busy over the last year. I have been doing my dissertation since December and I am pretty far with it...well...almost halfway, which is still better than anything else. I am still a cat sitter and I have recently started working as a morning cleaner. This is not a dream-job, but at least it is some money. I also have received an offer to be an event steward and so I am going to have a training soon. They will also pay for me to do an extra course, which is great. Additionally, I have secured places at two volunteering roles. One as a Referral Order Panel Member (someone who will meet with young criminals and their parents and tell them about punishment and what can be done to avoid one) and as a Branch Secretary for a veteran charity. I will be responsible for pretty much handling the whole charity and HR matters! I am really excited about it all! Quote
Louis Walles Posted January 26, 2024 Author Report Posted January 26, 2024 This has been a properly crazy time period for me. I have recently graduated from university and then had so many problems with my WiFi and then my electricity and then everything kind of started to fall apart! I am so surprised that it took me all so long to finish up and organise again. But as I promised. I will not fail again! HOL means the world to me and I cannot imagine my life without being a part of this community. Thank you all for understanding me and my situation and all the support I have received since then.
