This time, it is your turn to save humans from deadly robots! In a classic featured in Ready Player One, our game of choice will be... Robotron: 2084! Robotron: 2084 was made by Vid Kidz in 1981 to be released in arcades by William Electronics the next year. In this game you are in a fictional world where robots have rebelled against humanity, killing everyone except a single family. Your character, "Robotron Hero", moves around a square grid trying to shoot at the robots while saving the human family members (by touching them) for bonus points. There are other obstacles that kill you on contact if you shoot them... but all you need to do is kill all the killable robots to move onto the next level. (And when I say "killable robots", I AM implying that after the first level you will see robots that cannot be defeated no matter how many times you shoot them!) For controls, you move around with the arrow keys. The 'Z' button can be used to shoot, but you also need to be holding an arrow button while pressing the button to shoot (and you will shoot in the direction you're moving; this includes diagonally if you move with two arrows at once!) Oh, and you start the game with the 'Z' button as well. For this month's challenge, you want to go to THIS LINK to play Robotron: 2084 (any difficulty level is fine). Screencap your best performance (and post it in this thread) by January 31 at 11:59 PM HOL! -Participation at all will earn you 5 scales. -If you score 2021 points or higher - or beat the first round, your screencap will earn you 10 scales instead of 5. -The top three scores of the month will get extra scales (25, 20, and 15 respectively for the month instead of 5 or 10) as well as special awards!
